Romeo Acosta, Jr., MD

Dr. Acosta is the original founder of the Gulfcoast Institute of OB/GYN and has been proudly serving families in the Tampa Bay region since 1988. He originally hails from Cuba, but grew up in Long Island, New York. He attended Long Island University - C. W. Port Campus and from there went to New York University Medical School where he graduated in 1984. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. Soon after, he moved with his young family and established himself in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Acosta has devoted his whole life to the care of Women, minimally invasive in-office and in-hospital procedures, and minimally invasive robotic assisted surgery. He has served in multiple hospital committees and enjoys doing Mission trips to third world countries. He is a big University of Notre Dame football fan and likes to play golf.
